I believe one of the key factors to success is having a consistent spiritual practice – something that connects you to the Divine and something bigger than yourself. Everybody is unique and will have different forms of spiritual practice. The most important thing is finding out what works for you. That’s why it’s called a practice after all. My particular practice involves the daily chanting of the mantra Nam-myoho-renge-kyo which comes from Nichiren Buddhism.
Nam – devotion (to one’s practice)
Myoho – Mystic Law (the ultimate Law of the Universe)
Renge – Lotus (the simultaneity of cause and effect)
Kyo – sutra or teaching (voice of the Buddha)
***Kyo indicates the Mystic Law likened to a lotus flower, the fundamental law that permeates life and the universe, the eternal truth.
People often ask me how I managed to turn my life around and turn the impossible to possible, and I can honestly put my hand to my heart and say it started with Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. The practice had a profound effect on my life and continues to do so to this day. When you chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo you are literally chanting to change your mind. It lifts your vibration and brings you in alignment with the Universe and what you want to manifest in your life. I am thankful for it every day. It gives me faith that anything is possible.
