Walking Light

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
(Lao Tzu)

What I love about the summer is the light and how nature is so alive. One thing that has come from pushing myself with some of the treks I have done on some of my travels is being able to appreciate the diversity of nature and the beauty of the world. We live on such a beautiful planet with some incredible landscapes. There have been times I have been in such awe of the beauty it has brought tears to my eyes. I have been incredibly blessed with some of the sights I have seen whilst I was on some of my tougher treks and seen things that I never thought I would in this lifetime. It got me thinking that life is too short to be thinking about doing something and sometimes you have to just do it. There will always be something that will get in the way but when you remain true to your dreams then miracles do happen.

Trekking and my new love for walking as a result of it has showed me what is possible when you keep taking the steps you need to take (this was literal at times) and how over time it can build into something so awesome. It builds your resolve and you find strength you didn’t know you had to keep going. When hills get steep, it’s a metaphor for life and at some point you will get over that hill and celebrate yourself and what you have achieved. As well as creative goals, there is something powerful that comes from having physical goals to work towards too. They work well together. Plus, it honours the body you are living in and the living breathing miracle that you are. It brings you back to love and love consciousness.

Namaste,

Lisa ♥

Do it anyway…

rose-1015838_1280

People are often unreasonable,
irrational, and self-centered.

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse
you of selfish, ulterior motives.

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere
people may deceive you.

Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend creating,
others could destroy overnight.

Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
some may be jealous.

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
will often be forgotten.

Do good anyway.

Give the best you have,
and it will never be enough.

Give the best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is
between you and God.

It was never between you
and them anyway.

– Mother Teresa –

I came across this passage and I think it speaks for itself. The words carry such power in a beautiful way and I wanted to share it here. Have a wonderful week all.

In love and light,

Beauty and beyond…

 fairy

There is beauty
in so many unrecognised places.
It’s a different beauty than
what you find in magazines,
where the faces all become the same
page after page.
Neither is about shapes or fabrics
or cut or colour.
Beauty is how you invite people
into your life and your heart no matter what;
it’s when you laugh or cry with your whole self
just because that’s how you feel.
Beauty is the way you move
when you think no one is watching
and you forget the shadows
of “should” and “supposed to”.
Beauty is courage, energy, hope, and grace.
Beauty is you –
just the way you are.

– Sue Gillies-Bradley –

I came across this poem and I think it speaks for itself. I wanted to share it with you and follow on from last week’s post in dedication to all women. There are so many facets to a woman that is far greater and richer to what is portrayed in the media. It is a place where there is no competition or rivalry; only support and connection. It is place that exists beyond time and space, where you are able access more of who you are.

When you receive the love of a woman, you allow the Divine mystery to melt your heart. You become open to all there is and life is never the same again. You find strength in places you never thought possible. You find magic in vulnerability and tap into an energy that let’s your true power shine. Centred in the feminine, it is a place of empowerment and YOU shall remain.

In love and light,
Lisa
