Soul Summer

“One must maintain a little bit of summer, even in the middle of winter.” (Henry David Thoreau)

In the act of slowing down for late summer, I am very much in preparation mode and writing this serves as a reminder that during the darker days there is always light even if only a little. I very much struggle in the winter when we have darker and shorter days, and probably a lot of people can relate to this, but rather than pre-empting how I’m going to be or how I may feel it’s much better focusing on the now. It is staying in the now that will ultimately serve us. It it what will help us grow and keep to the sun as we move through the seasons one by one and go right back to the beginning.

It has been a year since I started a course called Naturopathic Nutrition and I am grateful for the healing it has brought me. After many years of personal development it never ceases to amaze me what else is out there that will serve my soul evolution. I felt like this course was a step up in weaving the other pieces together and being able to take charge of my health again. Sometimes when things happen in life or we get ill, it can seem hopeless. When the medical profession says there is no cure that is not the end. In fact, no matter what happens there is always something you can do to help yourself even if it’s changing your mindset to start off with to see what is possible and what you can change. There will always be factors out of our control in life but that doesn’t take away who you are or your sense of spirit. It can make all the difference in the world and your healing matters. It is the best gift you can give to Life.

I love what I am doing now and what I am learning. It makes me feel like every day is summer. As always it comes back to food with me and it brings me such joy. I have loved food all my life and this for certain will not change. I love and appreciate food more than ever before because of my experiences. Here is short caption of why food means so much to me today on one of my blog pages – Naturopathic Nutrition.

Have a great delicious week!

Namaste,

Summer Sun

Light your soul on fire and let love guide you

This week is a powerful week with the lead up to the Summer Solstice on Friday 21st June. It is the said to be the longest day of the year and brings us a new season filled with light and abundance which is probably welcomed by so many including myself. After the depths of winter and enduring the darkness in more ways than one it is so refreshing to know that there is light. It is coming and it is here. With the air of spring it brought us hope with signs of freshness. Seeds were being planted for growth and transformation on so many levels. As change is upon us again, it is the time to be seen and to bloom in full force with the hope and ideas from the spring season. Now is the time in all the seasons to take action and focus on the good. This makes all the difference in the world. When we focus on what is good and what is possible, it brings into alignment our truth and the desires our heart speaks. It is the time to honour them and give voice to the sunshine that lives within the heart. It is the way of the soul.

I don’t know about you but I always feel an impact when there is a seasonal shift. Some seasonal shifts affect me more than others but more than anything I am looking forward to the future and what it may bring. Also, I look forward to what I know it will bring because I have taken the steps I need to make things happen. To bring your dreams alive you have to take action. When you go through the depths of winter, it does something to you and relights your spark. I am in a place of gratitude with it all. When you finally allow yourself to leave the light on, life brings on new perspectives and dimensions. Sometimes I get to a place where I even feel like I’m in another dimension which allows me to transcend and bring positive change into my life.

What I find helps in keeping with focusing on the good is working with affirmations as a deliberate way to stay positive. Here are some awesome ones that I put together with this week’s theme:

I awaken this morning and greet this new day filled with happiness and enthusiasm for life.

I will radiate love and compassion and see the beauty in all of life.

I open my heart to Divine Light. I am Love.

I am radiant and allow the Divine Light of the Universe to guide my life in new and exciting ways.

My life is expanding in beautiful and miraculous ways.

Have a wonderful Summer Solstice beautiful readers! Sending blessings for the new season! May it bring you love, peace and abundance!

Springtime Sun

nature-3263198_1920“Winter always turns to spring.”
(Nichiren Daishonin)

This is one of my favourite Buddhist quotes. It reminds me of the realities of human life which we cannot escape. There will always be challenges, some greater than others, but our resolve to win is greater still. It’s what makes the world and the people in it so beautiful.

In the harshest of winters, things can seem so lifeless and so dark as light leaves with no ending in sight. Yet somehow the seasons come around as always, changing as we change, giving each of us a strong reminder to keep going and have hope for a better tomorrow.

Change can come in a variety of different ways and is not always easy. Sometimes when things are reaching breaking point, it is at that precise moment when a breakthrough is about to occur. If we have courage to step into it and move through it, we can learn so much about ourselves and our perspective of our circumstances can then be so different. This was certainly the case when I first heard the above quote. I didn’t believe it at first because I was at my lowest point with my health at the time and it seemed like there would never be a resolution to it or hope that my life would get better but it did.

When I was able to change my heart and really believe things could be different, this is when the miracle occurred and the light could enter again. As Marianne Williamson says, “a miracle is a shift of perception from fear to love.

Be ready and willing for your miracle!!

Lots of love,
Lisa
