Hello beautiful readers,
This week has seen the introduction of another Mercury Retrograde from the 7th July up until 31st July. I can’t pretend I know what this means in astrological terms with what planets are aligned or not aligned. I only know from previous Mercury Retrogrades that it can turn life topsy turvy and for the people around me. It can be a trying time where things which are not working comes up to test us and see if we’ve really grown or learned our lessons. I don’t know about you but when I know another Mercury Retrograde is coming I think to myself what on Earth has the Universe got in store for me this time. Communications can get disrupted and it’s usually not a good time to start something new.
However, despite some of the negative concepts that come out of a Mercury Retrograde when you read about it, there is also a positive spin and light at the end of the tunnel. This month is a good time for reflection and meditation. It is in those moments we can reach into our soul and find the answers. It can give clues to what we need to be working on or letting go of this month. It is also important during this time to surround yourself with positivity and positive people as you go through it.
I am working on finishing projects which is taking up a lot of my free time and this seems to be making this particular Mercury Retrograde a smoother ride. I am a bit of a procrastinator and it sometimes takes up so much energy. All the times I think about doing something (or rather not doing it), it could be time well spent to actually do something. Can you relate? I made it a commitment this month to finish what I need to finish and it’s going well so far.
When you commit and stick with it, I find that the Universe also steps in to meet you halfway. When you do what you know you need to do it makes room for new things and gives way to new energy. This is the magic of commitment and being true to yourself. It is the beauty that can come out of this Retrograde.
May you find your magic this month and dance with life.
When I think of fullness, I think of food (naturally lol) and how sometimes I eat too much. Other times I think of being full as being bombarded with too much information, especially with the advancement of technology in our time, or the need to undertake many tasks and run lots of errands to get by in daily living. It’s always the things that need to be done to be part of this world. It made me wonder though, perhaps there is a different kind of fullness to consider; a fullness that is enriching and nourishing to our souls and reignites our spirit.
I have been feeling out of sorts this week and although I know it will pass (it always does), it makes me feel like someone else other than me. I made a choice today to show up as my perfectly imperfect self despite this because sometimes you have to. Otherwise what is the alternative? There is an ebb and flow in life and to understand this is always reassuring to me.
My decision to be here and write this post was sparked by an article I wrote last year about how I overcome my greatest challenges through my faith and daily spiritual practice. I knew that there was a chance that no-one would ever read it but to just write it and know that the Universe would hear my voice and the acknowledgment of my journey was enough for me. I heard back from the magazine recently and my experience has just been printed for the August edition which is exciting and I am absolutely thrilled. I had completely let it go and not thought about it for nearly a year so it has been an interesting turn of events. It’s definitely a lesson in letting go and how it is in this complete surrender that what you want will come back to you. Sometimes it does not come back to you in the way that you envisaged or even at all. If it doesn’t then it is making room for something even better to come along that our minds cannot even comprehend.
As I read the article I had long forgotten about, my heart was completely filled with gratitude for my life and the people in it. My worst circumstances, which made me feel like life was against me at the time, became the best thing that happened to me. The love, support and miracles that occurred were the best things of all because I was open to it and that is the fullness I am talking about. It is the best kind and always available to us no matter what.
So my question to you today is, are you full of it?
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
Love and light,
a free spirit and a true spirit
within each of us.
Our free spirit wants to kiss the wind
whenever it gently touches our life.
It wants to sail away to some
Our true spirit wants to embrace
the moon and the stars
and cherish the magic.
It is the combination of both
our free spirit and our true spirit
that enables us to discover
the mysteries of our soul.
– Deanna Beisser –
I saw this beautiful passage and it really speaks to me. I believe there is an intelligence to life that knows more than we do. It helps us connect to our spirit no matter where we are in our lives when we take the time to listen. It is this place of deep listening that enables us to tap into the mysteries of all there is and bring forth the potential within us.
As much as I would love to know exactly where I’m going and what the future holds I love the idea of magic and enchantment. To know that this is in my life and that life will always fully support me is somewhat comforting. Sometimes when we make a change or follow a different path it can feel like we are all alone or that no-one understands us but the truth of the matter is, we are always guided and loved. We live in an abundant Universe that wants to give only love. To listen is to feel this love and energy that heals not only our own lives but the lives of others too.
Sending you blessings wherever you are in the world.
Love and light,
