Soul Summer

“One must maintain a little bit of summer, even in the middle of winter.” (Henry David Thoreau)

In the act of slowing down for late summer, I am very much in preparation mode and writing this serves as a reminder that during the darker days there is always light even if only a little. I very much struggle in the winter when we have darker and shorter days, and probably a lot of people can relate to this, but rather than pre-empting how I’m going to be or how I may feel it’s much better focusing on the now. It is staying in the now that will ultimately serve us. It it what will help us grow and keep to the sun as we move through the seasons one by one and go right back to the beginning.

It has been a year since I started a course called Naturopathic Nutrition and I am grateful for the healing it has brought me. After many years of personal development it never ceases to amaze me what else is out there that will serve my soul evolution. I felt like this course was a step up in weaving the other pieces together and being able to take charge of my health again. Sometimes when things happen in life or we get ill, it can seem hopeless. When the medical profession says there is no cure that is not the end. In fact, no matter what happens there is always something you can do to help yourself even if it’s changing your mindset to start off with to see what is possible and what you can change. There will always be factors out of our control in life but that doesn’t take away who you are or your sense of spirit. It can make all the difference in the world and your healing matters. It is the best gift you can give to Life.

I love what I am doing now and what I am learning. It makes me feel like every day is summer. As always it comes back to food with me and it brings me such joy. I have loved food all my life and this for certain will not change. I love and appreciate food more than ever before because of my experiences. Here is short caption of why food means so much to me today on one of my blog pages – Naturopathic Nutrition.

Have a great delicious week!

Purple Dreams

Following on from last week, I am focused on my projects in this moment and it’s been a great place to be. It has been good to focus on what I love in between the madness and busyness that comes from daily life. Daily life can even take over at times but I think if you really want something you will always find time for it no matter what it takes.

This week has brought us the energy of the Full Moon in Capricorn. Full moons have historically been quite unsettling for me and usually my emotions can feel quite out of balance but this week has been dare I say relatively calm compared to other full moons. That’s not to say stuff doesn’t come up but I believe when we have clear goals in mind then somehow doorways open up and pave way for opportunities. It’s about remembering to look at what is in front of us and working with what we have. During full moons and most days I always try to look for something to be grateful for. As they say, what you appreciate appreciates and this is so true.

Since we have reached more than the halfway mark for the year it is a super time to think about what we would like to achieve for the rest of the year and build our mindset around it in a fulfilling way. Here are some affirmations to get you started:

I am the author of my life.

I have the capacity to take committed action towards the life of my dreams.

I am filled with empowered thoughts to create my best reality.

This year is the best year of my life.

Today, I follow my bliss in every way.

Namaste,

Finding Your Gold

“Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth.”
(Shirley Chisholm)

I love this quote. When I first came across this it had such a huge impact on me and it reminded me of why we are all here and how we all have a mission on this planet whether it is in our jobs, our families and in anything else we are meant for or destined for in our lifetime across all lifetimes (if you believe in past lives). Yesterday saw another New Moon and the start of a new cycle. I am learning to love this part of nature’s natural cycle because it allows us such an opportunity to tap into the abundance of the Universe and what we truly desire. I have made my new moon wishes for this month and I decided to dream very big. Sometimes when we put out our desires to the Universe they don’t always make sense or they may seem so impossible to achieve that it would be so easy to shy away from them but the heart is such a powerful force. It is the embodiment of love and when we come from that place we can surely have faith in ourselves and the bigger picture no matter how impossible something may seem.

I know a lot of people comment on some of my successes and how much fun I look like I am having on social media when I post some of my positive posts but in the background where I don’t share the majority of my life, there is so much more that goes into achieving some of things I do and if I didn’t have any faith I wouldn’t do any of it. Most of the things I have done, I have had no idea how it was going to come into fruition. I decided in my mind that I would manifest them and set out firstly within my spiritual practice to focus on my vision and my mission. From there, I made a commitment to stay true to my visions no matter what. Life is too short to not try things and go for what you love. The worst that can come from it is our perceived failures if something doesn’t seem to work out but there is wisdom in every experience and nothing is ever a waste.

I decided I wanted to live my life without regrets and give things a try even if it scares me (especially if this happens). When you are faced with your mortality at a young age like I was, then it completely changes your perspective and outlook on life. It makes you realise that we don’t have an infinite amount of time here on Earth. In fact we don’t know how long we are here for and if we truly knew that then the question to ask is… ‘how would you live your life differently?’ That’s why the above quote had such an impact on me. As part of the collective, we each have a part to play and gifts to give. We can make lots of plausible excuses such as money and time to not do something but I believe that there is never a right time to do anything and you have to just do it.

Go for gold because your life is waiting for your beautiful gifts.

Happy New Moon,

Lisa ♥
