“An ascending life, in which we keep striving to grow and improve – this is what is meant by human revolution. Human revolution doesn’t mean becoming something special or different from who you are; it simply means striving to improve, no matter what challenges we face.” (Daisaku Ikeda)
I love the term human revolution. It is a powerful statement filled with hope for the human spirit. It was a term coined in Nichiren Buddhism. When I first started practicing Buddhism this is where I was introduced to the concept. It is that knowing that when we face challenges that there is always something we can to do change something yet remaining authentic in how we express ourselves. What it has taught me is that every challenge is an opportunity for so much good. Somehow the more challenges a person may face is an opportunity for even more growth. It may not seem that way but it is an chance to step out of ourselves and see these challenges as fuel for change. As we tap into our inner resources it gives scope for tremendous growth inside of each of us and be able to live in a way in which we remain strong our convictions. We can surely strive with determination and hope for the future. I believe there is always hope. As long as we have hope in our hearts then anything is possible. Human revolution starts with love. It begins with each of us.
Wishing you a hope-filled week!
“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.” (Oscar Wilde)
I saw this quote a few years back right at the height of my healing journey when I was turning things around with my health and more. Although I believe in love and marriage, what I have learnt is the most important relationship you have is the one you have with yourself. You will always be with you and you will always have you. Now this a very long time to be with someone. Do you ever think about how you treat yourself or how you approach yourself? Is it with kindness or contempt? It’s something to really think about and gives plenty of food for thought. If we could see ourselves from a different perspective would we change our approach to ourselves. Kindness certainly has to start from within which radiates outwards onto others and the world around us. You can only give what you already have and it’s remembering this. No matter what the question is in your life, love is always the answer. Even more so, self-love is more important than ever in a world that sometimes makes no sense at times. This goes hand in hand with building a good relationship with ourselves – our true selves.
When you truly meet yourself, love touches the core of your entire being…
There is something inside of each of us that already knows. It knows the way to our heart. It knows what needs to be done, where to go, who to connect with. It knows the answers to the questions we are seeking. It lives inside our cells. It breathes life into us. It brings us alive into creation where we can truly thrive as human beings.
On this path, we each have a unique blueprint that is special and travels the distance in revealing the truth. There is healing and transformation that is available to us if we stay still enough to listen. In the whisper of that silence is that voice of higher consciousness leading the way. If we are brave enough to tune into its frequency there is so much magic and wonder to explore.
Life is a rippling flow of energy that strengthens our resolve to step into the bigness of who we are. There is Power. There is Presence. There is Love. When we see experiences as opportunities to peel back the layers, we can stand inside the fire and ignite the essence of our spirit. We can dance in ecstasy. We can taste the passion. We can jump to the sky and take flight, finding the courage to step into the unknown and know that we are loved just as we are. There is nothing to change. Only total surrender to Oneness.
It’s about recognising anything that is in alignment with our soul and living from a place of authenticity. When we allow love to guide us we will always find our way back to ourselves. We will always come Home.
